Chapter 1

Drs. Matt and Ellen Harmon have been married 25 years. They have two children, a son Matthew Jr. ''MJ'' who is 21 and a recent college graduate, and a daughter Allison ''Ally'' who is 17 and graduating high school in less than a month.

The story opens with a giddy with excitement Ally coming into the kitchen after returning from the shopping mall.

Noticing Ellen standing at the sink making preparations for dinner she makes her way over. "Hello Mother how are you doing this fine day," she said as she placed a kiss on her cheek. Not missing her daughter's extreme excitement, "I'm fine, but something tells me you're doing a whole lot better than that. What's got you so happy?"

Ally toddled to the refrigerator and grabbed a can of diet 7-UP.  "Mom I met the most incredible guy," she said taking a seat at the table before pulling the tab of her drink and taking a few swallows.

"A guy, I should have known," Ellen said drying her hands on a dishtowel and also taking a seat at the table.

"He is so handsome. He has gorgeous black hair, and these dreamy blue eyes. He is so charming and sweet. And the best part it's not even a come on, he's so smart and funny and he's so genuine. Mom he's just wonderful, a perfect gentleman," her eyes shining brightly and her dimples deepening in her cheeks as she tried to think of more adjectives to describe her dream man. Listening to her daughter go on and on, "And you surmised all this in," looking at her watch, "three hours?"

"Mom it was like I knew him forever. Just like Dad said it was when he met you. Mom he could be the one," Ally said excitedly.

"I'm not trying to diminish your extreme happiness but you're still young. There are probably dozen's more guys that you'll feel this exact way about before you find "the one".

"I'm not that young Mom. I'll be eighteen in two weeks, graduating high school two weeks later and starting pre-med at Columbia in the fall."

"Speaking of Columbia, if this guy is "the one", how are you going to handle that if he's here in Port Charles?"

"That's the best part Mom, he's a second year pre-med student at Columbia. It's like fate or something."

"Fate," Ellen mouthed.

"Make light of it if you will, I'm almost positive I met your future son-in-law today."

"Wow, this guy really made an impression on you didn't he?" Ellen said seeing how totally taken her daughter is with this young man.

"Oh yes he did. He just so smart, and…"

"Wonderful and gorgeous, yes I know," Ellen finished for her.

"Exactly." Ally smiled. Looking at her watch, "Oh I have to get ready, we have a date tonight. I can't wait for you and Dad to meet him. I just know you're going to love him," giving Ellen another kiss on the cheek she headed to her room to make preparations for her date.

Across town…

"You look a lot happier than you did when you left here," the older gentleman said.

"That's because I am a lot happier. I met the most incredible girl," he said falling back onto the sofa in what was tantamount to a swoon.

"She must be a real babe if you're going on like that."

"Oh she's like a babe times ten million," the younger man answered with a smile. "She is the most perfect woman I've ever seen. Aside from being just drop dead gorgeous and she is that, I mean she has the face of an angel, but she's so smart, and funny, and just so much fun. It's like my wildest dreams of the perfect woman just came true today. I hope you don't mind my borrowing your car tonight because we have a date."

"Hey that's fine, just drop me off at the hospital I have a late shift."

"Thanks a lot Uncle Chris," Jack Ramsey, Jr. returned excitedly. "I might be jumping the gun a bit, but I believe with my whole heart I've found the person I want spend the rest of my life with," he explained to his uncle before racing to his room to prepare for his date with what he felt was an angel.
